On Stimulants
I try not to drink too much caffeine. However, my maximum-awesomeness type lifestyle frequently demands that I'm at my best even when I'd rather be at my bed. This means that I frequently have to guzzle soda/coffee/whatever. The problem here is that, with time, caffeine becomes less effective. So I drink more of it. So it becomes less effective. So...you get the idea.
This weekend I found myself drinking enough Red Bull at breakfast to give myself palpitations. Pro Tip: palpitations are bad.
In order to avoid problems like this, I will routinely cut out caffeine for a few days and get back to baseline. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do that lately because of some pretty heavy scheduling. I've been working a lot, had scheduled a vacation to try and recuperate. Unfortunately the vacation went pear-shaped and I wound up dealing with some fairly hi-stress stuff, then going back to work, then going on another trip that was...less than restful...and now I'm back to work tomorrow.
I had planned to get a lot done today, but I think I need a nap.
