Fall in the Swamp

Autumn* has come to the Big Sleazy. Highs are down to the 80's, lows in the 60's, humidity down to 50%. You can actually go outside and stand in the shade without breaking a sweat.

I foresee some hot tub time in my near future.

*no, not Autism. We already had that.

My Lungs are Trying to Kill Me

I live in a Swamp (with a capital S). So there's lots of mold, mildew, fungus, alligators...basically if it's green and fuzzy and aggravating, it's growing in my house. Recently I had some AC work done, and the guy looked at my ductwork and recommended I get it cleaned.

Now, I've heard mixed reviews about duct cleaning, whether or not it works, etc, but I figured this guy recommends the procedure and doesn't do it/isn't going to make any money on it, well....maybe I do need it.

I got some recommendations, and what wound up happening was two guys with a roto-rooter brush came and cleaned out all my ductwork...it looked like the world's biggest colostomy. I looked at the ducts before and after, and yeah, they're cleaner.

Only problem is the sanitizer solution they used to clean everything; I'm not allergic to it, but it's definitely an irritant. So now The Wife and I are BOTH wheezing.
