Sweeney Todd
The Wife, during our viewing and critical deconstruction of "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in concert" (yeah, the version with NPH in it) described the production as, and I quote,
"Beautiful songs about killing people."
I'm not sure whether to be amused, scared, or both.

Ah, my wife. Queen of the pithy film commentary.

I saw a PBS? broadcast of the 1982 version with Angela Lansbury. I am not a big fan of musicals, but I found this enjoyable. I haven't seen the newer versions and it has been a long time, but I remember liking the rather twisted sense of humor. I would expect Johnny Depp to do well in this kind of role.

Actually, what I saw was the 1979 version with Len Cariou and Angela Lansbury.
