Movie Review: "Searching"
I was running late for this one and missed the previews, but got in just in time for the opening credits. "Searching" is the story of how John Cho's daughter disappears and then he realizes that he never really knew her. The writing is pretty good, if a little hokey in the final reveal. The cinematography is really cool, as nearly the entire movie appears as the screen of various computers. Cho puts in a great performance in what is very nearly a one-man show. Debra Messing turns in a decent performance as well, but fails to sell the ending. It's really a story about loneliness and the isolation inherent in the human condition. Good flick, four stars. Ted sez check it out.
